SAMMY JAY
Sammy Jay has never believed guitars should behave themselves. Responsible for many of Ghost Town Criers’ towering riffs and swirling psychedelic textures, Sammy approaches songwriting like controlled chaos—always searching for the unexpected note that shouldn’t work but somehow does.
Equal parts perfectionist and improviser, he’ll happily spend hours chasing a single guitar sound before throwing the entire plan away and recording the first take instead. His influences stretch from blues and desert rock to shoegaze and vintage psychedelia, helping shape the band’s signature blend of grit and atmosphere.
On stage, he’s the band’s restless energy.
Off stage, he’s usually the first to make everyone laugh.
“If it sounds perfect, we’ve probably overthought it.”
