Adam Shaw has always been more interested in questions than answers.

Long before Ghost Town Criers existed, he filled battered notebooks with fragments of conversations, half-finished lyrics and observations collected from motorway service stations, empty pubs, train platforms and forgotten towns across Britain. Those notebooks eventually became songs.

Influenced as much by philosophy, history and psychology as music itself, Adam’s writing explores the tension between progress and loss—how the modern world can leave us more connected than ever, yet somehow further apart.

Off stage, he rarely discusses the meaning behind his lyrics. He believes every listener should discover their own version of the story.

When he’s not writing, you’ll usually find him wandering with a camera, collecting photographs of abandoned places or reading whatever book currently refuses to leave his bedside table.
